The Society believes that a varied volunteer corps is an irreplaceable asset. Society volunteers range in age from upper elementary students to senior citizens and include persons fluent in German, Lakota, Spanish, and American Sign Language. Persons with disabilities find varied and interesting placements. Most positions are available in Lincoln and selected ones are also located at the Society's Historic Sites.
Volunteers are central to the Nebraska State Historical Society (NSHS)! The NSHS’s success depends on highly dedicated volunteers to fill critical roles. With facilities in Lincoln and Omaha, as well as across the state, there are many ways to lend a hand.
Volunteers must be able to commit at least four months of time, once a week. One-on-one training will be provided.
