The Federal Tax Incentive Program in Nebraska has been responsible for:
- reinvesting of hundreds of millions of dollars for the preservation of historic buildings
- establishing of thousands of low and moderate income housing units as well as upper-end units
- adaptively re-use of previously under-or un-utilized historic properties in older downtown commercial areas
- helping broaden the tax base
- giving real estate developers and city planners a tool to consider projects in older, historic neighborhoods
