SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The manuscript portion of the collection consists of a notebook with commentary accompanied by photographs of the 1935 flood in McCook, Nebraska. The commentary is provided by a man trapped in the Nebraska Light and Power Company building in McCook. He describes the destruction as the water rises, and photographs show the building before, during, and after the flood.
Note: The photo component consists of ten photographic prints showing the 1935 flood of the Republican River in McCook, Nebraska. There are before, during, and after shots of the flood on the Nebraska Light and Power Company building. Included are photographs of attempts made to rescue men stranded in the building.
