BACKGROUND NOTE

This may be the Platte Valley Hotel that was built by William McCarty in 1857. The register gives the name of John Ross as proprietor.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of one volume, a guest register of the Platte Valley House. Approximately one third of the register pages are covered with clippings from an unidentified newspaper or newspapers. The earliest entry visible is October 23, 1870, and the back of each page carries a printed list of principal business houses in Plattsmouth.
