SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains a manuscript by A.H. Hilpert of Alliance, Nebraska, entitled, "The Second Sioux Creek Massacre," in which he writes of a 1916 historical pageant that commemorated the first Sioux Creek Massacre of Garfield County, Nebraska. He describes the "filming" (photographing?) of the pageant by Frank A. Harrison of the Nebraska State Historical Society. Also included is some correspondence with A.E. Sheldon from 1939-1940 concerning the publication of the manuscript.
