BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Boyd Perkin, son of Joseph and Nellie (Lulterbine) Perkin, was born in Frontier County, Nebraska in June of 1893. After the death of his father in 1932, Boyd, along with two of his sisters, continued to run the mercantile business begun by Joseph in the early 1900s. They sold the business in 1958. Boyd's interest in writing and Frontier County history resulted in his providing the poems for Early History of Frontier County, Nebraska by W. H. Miles and John Bratt. (A copy of this is in the NSHS Library under 978.242/M643e.) Much of Perkin's literary output appeared in Studio News Magazine.
