The collection consists of one letter dated December 29, 1902 from David L. Keiser of Booneville, Missouri to A.E. Sheldon, director of the Nebraska State Historical Society. Keiser writes of his (and his family's) association with navigating on the Missouri River from 1839-1870. He writes about the names of boats and their years of service, captains' names, etc. He also gives impressions of early Nebraska towns and how they grew due to the river trade.
