SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of fifteen letters, dating from 1867-1869, written to Henry Grosvenor Eldrege. All but one of the letters were written by men who were friends and had been co-workers of Eldrege at the Winnebago Agency at Winnebago, Nebraska. Some correspondents include Will Clapp, Bradford Porter, Charles H. Potter, and John Taffe, a U.S. congressman from Nebraska.
