BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Paul Moore, son of John A. and Sarah (Reigle) Moore, was born in Battle Creek, Nebraska on October 22, 1888. After attending country school until the eighth grade, he worked in mills in Madison and Platte County and farmed with his father. Drafted in 1917, Paul Moore served with Co. B, 89th Division, 355th Infantry. After training at Camp Funston, Moore saw service in France, Belgium, and Germany. Returning to his Battle Creek home in 1919, Paul Moore married Barbara Souvignier the following year. Four children were born to the Moores. For the rest of his life, Moore continued farming. He also raised race horses and grew apples. He died at the age of eighty-five on April 3, 1974.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of a photocopy of the scrapbook of Paul Moore. This scrapbook relates mainly to the World War I military service of Paul Moore, Battle Creek, Nebraska, native, who served as a corporal with Co. B, 89th Division, 355th Infantry. The scrapbook traces Moore's service from training at Camp Funston, Kansas through his experiences in France, Belgium, and Germany. Explanatory notes and additional biographical information were furnished by his daughter, Helen Moore Henry. Note: This collection consists of photocopies only.
