The collection consists of various personal papers of Winfield Scott Dunten dating from 1865-1914. Most of the materials relate to Dunten's time in Seward County, Nebraska. Included are his certificate of marriage (1885) to Clara Belle Cady; his discharge papers (1865) from the Civil War where he had served with the Indiana Cavalry; receipts of payment of dues to the fraternal group, Royal Arch Masons, Lincoln Chapter No. 6; property tax records; homestead certificate (1874); certificate of admission to practice law in the District Courts of Iowa (1871); papers concerning property purchases; and brief information about the Dunten Family.
