Rosa Cobos


Rosa Cobos

Noted Scottsbluff, Nebraska, singer Rosa Elia Cobos was born in Eagle Pass, Texas, in 1957 to a family who had been in Texas since it was a Mexican Territory. She has been singing since she was four years old. She learned guitar at age ten, taught by her father and other relatives. She has also written several corridos and other original musical compositions. The child of migrant farm workers, Ms. Cobos feels that music was the vehicle that carried the family through hard times.

La notable cantante de Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Rosa Elia Cobos nació en Eagle Pass, Texas, en 1957 proveniente de una familia que ya radicaba en el estado cuando todavía era territorio mexicano. Ella canta desde los cuatro años. Además, su padre y otros familiares le enseñaron a tocar la guitarra a los diez años. Ella ha escrito varios corridos y otras composiciones musicales originales. Hija de trabajadores migrantes de agricultura, ella piensa que la música fue el vehículo que sostuvo a la familia en los tiempos difíciles.
