Juvencia Reyes

Omaha, Nebraska, resident Juvencia Reyes (shown here with her daughters Gloria and Dolores and granddaughter Cecilia), was known for her wonderful food, which she learned to cook from her mother. She cooked for numerous fiestas and family and community gatherings. She was born in 1900 in Guanajuato, Mexico and came with her parents to Omaha in 1919. Her father established the first Mexican church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, in Omaha.

Residente de Omaha, Nebraska, Juvencia Reyes (retratada con sus hijas Gloria y Dolores y su nieta Cecilia) fue conocida por su comida maravillosa, la que aprendió a hacer de su madre. Ella cocinó para numerosas fiestas, reuniones familiares y de la comunidad. Nació en 1900, en Guanajuato, México. En 1919, vino a Omaha con su familia. Su padre estableció la primera iglesia mexicana, la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, en Omaha.
